Road Race Technical Standards & Timing Recognition Guidelines
Course measurement, timing technology and how results are recognised.
Course Measurement
The 21 KM Half Marathon course is designed as a two-loop, 100% paved road route around Fateh Sagar Lake, measured to reflect an accurate 21.1 KM distance from start to finish. The organizers work with local authorities and technical volunteers to lay out the shortest possible running line, place distance markers at every kilometre, and position turnaround points clearly at TRIMURTI, Mewar Darshan Dirgha.
Timing Technology
- Every 21 KM bib is fitted with a disposable RFID timing chip on the reverse.
- Timing mats are placed at the start line, intermediate checkpoints and the finish line.
- Both Gun Time (from the official start signal) and Chip Time (from crossing the start mat to the finish mat) are recorded.
- Split timings are captured at designated checkpoints along the course.
- Results are provisional until reviewed and are subject to correction in case of timing mat or chip malfunction.
Recognition of Results
Only runners who complete the full 21 KM course, pass all intermediate checkpoints within the stipulated cut-off times, and cross the finish line wearing their own assigned bib will have their result officially recognised. Age-category recognition (male / female / open) is calculated using the net chip time.
Grounds for Disqualification
- Running without the assigned bib clearly visible on the front of the body.
- Using another participant's bib or transferring a bib to a third party.
- Cutting the course, skipping a timing mat or receiving unauthorised assistance (such as cycling or vehicle-paced support).
- Missing an intermediate cut-off, resulting in a DNF (Did Not Finish) mark and a request to board the sweeper vehicle.
- Any conduct that endangers fellow runners, volunteers or officials.
